October 18 11:30–1:30 p.m

Devon Dederich – Asana from the Inside Out

Zoom only

In this class, we will reverse the usual approach of building asanas from the limbs inward. Instead of starting with the arms and legs, we’ll begin by drawing together the breath, senses, and intelligence to generate inner action before engaging the muscles and bones. Just as speech and movement arise from the mind, our asana practice will emerge from within—more consciously and deliberately than usual.

PAST CLASSES

Aug 7        6:30–7:30 p.m. CT

Paula Weithman – The Practice of Practice

6750 Hillcrest Plaza Drive
#317 Concorde on the Creek
Dallas, Tx 75230

Join me for a lively discussion on exploring the aspects of our practice, both on and off the mat, guided by the yoga sutras.   I will focus on the koshas as an overlay of support and highlight the sutras on our path of integration into more wholeness.  It is always inspiring to me to study the sutras as a group and allow the collective intelligence to shine its light for our minds to have more clarity and illumination.  You will need to have a copy of The Yoga Sutras.

July 13        2–3:30 p.m. CT

David Slack – Laying the Groundwork for Handstand Practice

BKS Iyengar Yoga Studio of Dallas

5539 Dyer St – Dallas TX

Live and Zoom

This class is intended for practitioners who have not been able to perform handstands (Adho Mukha Vrksasana) or for those who feel insecure in the pose.  We will work systematically toward the path to a correct handstand. The poses and drills we’ll be practicing will give the practitioner the strength, confidence, and coordination necessary to achieve the pose.
